Neighbourhood Plan Autumn Update

Our Neighbourhood Plan is continuing to progress through independent examination.

The examiner sent us a clarification note, containing questions on various policies within our draft Plan. We have since returned a written response to the clarification note.

The examiner will now conclude the examination and provide a fact-checking draft of the Examiner’s Report within 2-3 weeks. The final report and recommendations will then be published, before Medway Council’s Cabinet decides whether to send the Plan to a public referendum.

We recently held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and, following a vote, we have informed Medway Council that we would prefer to align the referendum with the Police Crime Commissioner election on 2 May 2024. Members also voted in support of restructuring ACNF by replacing the Management Committee with a Forum Organiser once the examination stage is completed and a new constitution is agreed at a future meeting.

Further updates on the Neighbourhood Plan’s progress will be posted via our website and social media. If you’re interested in joining our forum, please visit the Join Us page.
