Neighbourhood Plan Winter Update

Since we submitted our Neighbourhood Plan and its suite of supporting documents in December 2022, we have now agreed an updated timetable for bringing it forward with Medway Council.

It’s expected that our Neighbourhood Plan will enter a final round of public consultation (Regulation 16) in late Q1 of this year.

Once it has gone through Regulation 16, the Neighbourhood Plan, its supporting documents and any comments received from stakeholders would then be submitted to an independent examiner in Q2. The examiner will check if the Plan meets a series of ‘basic conditions’ and make recommendations for any final changes that should be made.

The council’s Cabinet would subsequently decide whether/when to send the Neighbourhood Plan to a public referendum. Currently, we envisage the referendum to take place in Q3.

Further updates on the Neighbourhood Plan’s progress will continue to be posted here on our website and via our social media channels.
